The J52B Armchair has been created by Børge Mogensen for the brand FDB Møbler. It is the designer's take on the 1952 classic English Windsor chair. It went on to reach iconic status not only in Denmark but around the world.
The J52B Armchair is made of oak sourced from Latvia. It has a high backrest that has an arched upper edge and columns of spindles underneath. They were a mainstay of traditional English furniture and they lend the chair a timeless, retro look. A bar goes across the spindles in the middle creating a two-tier effect. The bar extends to the ends and curves inwards to form armrests on either side of the seat. It is generously sized and has softly rounded edges. The shell is supported by a base that replicates the English retro look with legs that are rounded just like the spindles. They are angled outwards which increases the chair's surface area and makes it stronger and more stable. It has an H-shaped footrest that makes the chair even more comfortable.
The J52B Armchair has a length of 61.5cm, a width of 56.2cm and a height of 90.1cm. Its seat height is 44cm. It is available in natural, oiled oak.
