The Le Roi Stool has been created by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl for the brand Norr 11. It is part of a collection that pays homage to designs from the French colonial period. Scandinavian design traditions that champion ideals like minimalism and timelessness have been integrated which gives the stool a totally new look.
The Le Roi Stool is the designers' take on the classic Nordic stool fashioned in materials associated with the French colonial era. It has a round top that has a frame made of oak which contains a surface made of rattan. It has been used to make an open weave which gives the stool a light, airy look. The wooden frame sits on legs that are also made of oak. Rather than the top sitting on them, it slots into the tops of the legs that extend upwards. Another intriguing detail on this stool is that it has three legs rather than the customary four.
The Le Roi Stool has a height of 44cm, a diameter of 35cm and a seat height of 32.5cm. It comes with a natural or dark-stained oak finish. It can be stacked for convenient storage. It can also be used as a bedside table or side table in a living room.
